The year to end all years is here. What can I say? I don't feel any different than I did in first year.. wiser maybe. I thought I would feel some definite change in the atmosphere, be able to bless paper with perfect drawings in single wrist movements, or find a solution to world peace. I'm a bit torn, as usual, between doing a really awesome film or working on a concept art portfolio while just doing something short and quick to pass the program. I need some help. It's very obvious however that no matter how I slice it a film isn't really the ticket to breaking into games. Imagine what could be done with a year of concept and lifedrawing! Only time will tell.
The images above aren't for my film. I was commissioned to do 2.35:1 storyboards for Porcelain Film in the UK. It was super fun, and man, an awesome (violent) story. Good luck to the guys making it.

I hear you regarding the atmosphere, I think in a way it will come- once more and more people start progressing with their films and really getting into the groove. As for your toss up between film and concept.. it is a tough decision indeed.
It is an option of course to just get the film done for the sake of the grade.. but think of the years spent awaiting fourth year and the chance to finally make your own film! You for one shouldn't settle for mediocre, besides.. you might be doing concept for the rest of your life..take the chance while you have it to make something awesome.
make a film!!!!!
